Why do Westerners call India a sh**hole?

I believe the premise of the question is ineffable as well as unfair. It is easy to sit in a chair in London and badmouth any country, without even actually taking a trip there. This also means nothing whatsoever, because the truth will always remain the truth, no matter what any person or any news article, says anything about this.

Which among the following is easier to say?

1. India is a sh**hole.
2. India is the worst country in the world for the following obvious reasons:

• India gave the world its first university: Takshashila University.

• India gave the world the numeral: Zero.

• The Game of Chess originated in India.

• Indians were the first ones to use and invent buttons.

• India taught the world to cultivate Jute.

• Cataract surgery was first found in ancient India.

• Indians discovered the Kashmiri wool.

• Buddhism and Jainism originated in India.

• Ayurveda originated in India.

• India gave the cure for Leprosy.

• Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, and Calculus originated in India.

• The Binary number system which is used in modern computers and digital devices was invented in India.

• Yoga was invented in India.

• Bhaskaracharya precisely calculated the time taken by the earth to orbit the Sun.

• Indian Scientist — Jagdish Chandra Bose invented the technology of Wireless Communication.

• USB was developed and defined by Ajay V. Bhatt, who is an Indian-American computer architect.

• India invented a card game called Suits.

• India gave candied sugar to the world.

• Though being the biggest importer of weapons in the world and having the third strongest army in the world, India never attacked any of its neighbors because we Indians believe in peace and nonviolence, we taught the world a lesson about humanity and nonviolence.

Obviously, #1 is easier to say. The second takes more erudition, intelligence, empathy, and patience, a few qualities an average internet user does not particularly have in spades.

Querying if India is a sh**hole is like asking “Why do people speak German in Europe?” or “Why can’t women drive in the middle east?” (Both questions here are silly because the attributes are specific to certain regions and not an entire belt and hence the answers to them do not hold 100% truth value).

No one is denying that India has problems, but asking a question like this would not make sense because we are talking about a country. India is an ancient & continuous civilization, more than 10,000 years; this is not the USA or Australia which were just discovered only 400–500 years ago to create new designs for society, i.e. living or building.

When people say you’re from a “sh**hole country..” I sarcastically feel sorry for them.

India has its own good and bad just like any other nation. Our democracy gives the foreign media the Rights of the Press but they only use it to display badly. Ever they put a snapshot of Gurgaon, Mumbai Skyline, Chandigarh, etc. now they will search desperately and find only beggars, and cows on streets in rural areas in order to portray India in a somewhat good image, they use Taj Mahal; they don’t know anything other than it.

You might know about the UK — a developed country, that once had a kingdom where the Sun never set; the same UK has 1.5 crore homeless and foodless people in a total population of 9 crores as of now!

Should I tell you about Italy or Spain, their cleanliness and real capacity?

Forget the top cities of the USA and roam around the American suburbs and rural areas, you will find India is far better..!

Every country has shit!

A country can’t be clean without holes; so look at your butt first before talking about another’s.

I don’t know what anyone will call Pakistan?

If India is a sh**hole, then will you call Pakistan itself a sh*t?

No, please don’t say so; Respect the nations!

The truth is that India is really a beautiful country; such a beautiful country should never be badmouthed as such.

India is a land from which many inventions, discoveries in math, science, health, philosophy, architecture, and more were achieved. It is culturally the richest country and has a lot of spices which was why most of the invasions of India happened. India was the richest country until the British raids of 1920. India was the strongest country that stood strong against many invasions and is still the strongest country. India is also the oldest civilization and was advanced from the very beginning. And, the Indian dressing style, linguistic diversity, and culture are the best in the world.

We need to teach the world about our greatness..!

Every country on Earth has a unique characteristic; found only in that country. Some countries have no freedom; some rulers are ruthless; while some rulers are monsters. Regardless of where you live, you have the ability to make others feel better & you can do whatever you can to make your country better.

Conversely, only you can make yourself feel bad & only you can decide to make yourself feel better.
